I've recently had a spate of computer related problems including two computer power supplies dieing and the spare laptop being occupied all week with a 7hour disk operation.

The pi has come to the rescue of my lack of internet. Regigging the home server so that there is about 125 mb of memory for the GPU, I've launched into LXDE and been quite impressed about how usualable and cool the little Pi is at web stuff and other normal computer stuff.The Pi does lack the clout to fully run all the web-based programs used everyday but a simular slightly more powerful board would be highly usable and satify the everyday user. The pi is awesome low-power linux server and a useful spare computer when all IT around falls apart.
