I've been pondering whether if Jesus was round in these days if Matthew 6 would have an extra section between v18 and 19. Quoting from the non-revised Cheesman version

Matthew 6

And when you tweet, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to post in blogs, forums and mailing list to be seen by others. And when you post, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many likes, reposts and comments. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

I know I'm having fun with the text, but the essence of the sermon of the mount resonants within my new verse. I see lots of online activities which seem to be blowing people's own trumpet. I know that there is a tension point with wanting to inform but isn't it God who knows what our needs are? Throughout the bible there is this idea of manna, God provides enough for today. Maybe we are too eager to praise his works in cyberspace than in heavenly and earthly space where only he is watching.

I'm just reminded of an old poster which resided in my brother's bedroom which had a lion being fanned by other animals and this verse below

Proverbs 27: 2 NLT - New Living Translation

Don't praise yourself; let others do it!
