I've recently played electric guitar at an African wedding and the issue of self control cropped up. It isn't just an issue of denying oneself, but actually holding back ones talent to enable and enhance the collective.

As I thought about it more, Self control is the forgotten fruit of the spirit, probably as is limited to not getting drunk or sleeping around and is usually the last topic on a teaching session and gets the least focus. This year, I'm trying to be more self controlled, more self-aware and try to hold back so that the collective can benift. I can do abstaince, it is quite easier, you just say no to whatever, everytime, as your answer is defined but moderation is the challlenge facing me this year. Knowing when to say that is enough.
