I've been struggling with guitar playing for a while. Lockdown hasn't been the creative hub (there are a few exceptions) that I had hoped it would be. The free time was there but making music didn't really happen. I've been trying to branch out from MOR music and have been trying to incorporate new scales, modes, chords, styles and ideas. This seems to have been a labour of love as nothing really has been working and things haven't felt good. I've tried all sorts of things, including new guitars but the same down funk existed over my playing, amplified by breaking guitar strings and things generally not working.

However, all that was needed was a new set of strings. The bright sound coupled with slippery feel lead to a exciting dynamic sound and all I've been practising just fell into place and sounds great.

I'm just wondering what else in life I'm needing to refresh by putting on a new set of strings. No radical change, just a little refreshment...
