21 st Century Tele

This isn't another post about the awesome media system in the cheesefarm but rather a success in the midi-guitar field. After battling to get the pickup on my strat(s) and acoustic guitars, I discovered that that my telecaster could have a mild action raise and then work with the pickup.

So, I'm now fully midi and have been really impressed with the box. Unknown to me, the Gr-55 actually contained a midi guitar and the roland V-guitar modeller. So, the telecaster can quickly/accurately model various acoustics/electrics with a whole range of effects and combine them with midi sounds. So I can switch from piano to electric piano to nylon guitar with strings to a resonator to crunchy strat to smoking les paul. The church organ and 12 string guitar is also nice. Overall the midi tracking is pretty fast and accurate. Low notes can be a little suspect but if a combination of model guitar and synth is used, the attack of the guitar sound covers the fractional delay of the tracking. This is a rarity rather than normality.

The first piece of evidence . I would have more but i snapped a string during church today :(

I quite like the poetry that one of the oldest mainstream electric guitars is now one of the most futurist. Ideally, i would love to find a strat with a sustainer neckpick up and a midi pickup built in. Kinda hard as the roland GC-1 is discontinued and I can't find one anywhere!
